Exercise:
It was suggested that long-acting calcium blockers have a higher risk for coronary artery disease compared to other types of anti-hypertensive agents. Thus, a literature search was performed to select randomized clinical trials (RCTs) for the long-acting calcium blockers and other anti-hypertensive agents (diuretics, β-blockers, and ACE inhibitors). The selected RCTs except one included 100 and more participating patients with 2 years and more follow-up period. The following are the comparison data of myocardial infarction as the event. Combine these trials and perform the meta-analysis. (Egger M & Smith GD, Bias in location and selection of studies. BMJ, 316: 61-66, 1998. )

Comparative Verification Test
SPSS has had meta-analysis since version 28. The version used was an earlier version, so we were unable to test it this time.
EZR shows the results of only Peto’s method for pooling odds ratios across the strata of fourfold tables.
Heterogeneity (test of homogeneity): P= 0.1643 in StatFinale, and P=0.16 in EZR.
Significance test (Mantel-Haenszel test): P=2.37E-16 in StatFinale. No test results were found in EZR.
We have edited the results from StatFinale to match the EZR display. The values differ slightly at the 95% confidence intervals but are almost the same.
